Powers Golden Hours is a series of trad sessions like you’ve never seen before, where roofs are raised with old tunes blended anew, and song and story gets passed through generations in hallowed halls.

So to round off 2023, where could the best possible place to bring it home be?

Other Voices. 

We brought Powers and Other Voices together for the very first time to collaborate on an incredibly special Powers Golden Hours gig on the Sunday of Other Voices at Páidí Ó Sé’s pub on the Dingle peninsula. Featuring Cormac Begley, Junior Brother, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, West Kerry Set Dancers and hosted by Doireann Ní Ghlacáin, it was another legendary night for the ages. 

Both Powers and Other Voices have a shared love and appreciation for Irish music and culture, it was the perfect storm on a calm Sunday in December as the wind whistled outside those hallowed halls of Páidí’s. 

Powers Golden Hours has gone from strength to strength over 2023, bringing generations together under the banner of their Old But Gold platform. The coming together of Powers and Other Voices was a bullseye moment, with both brands blending beautifully in shared appreciation of the magic of trad.
